Building a Digital Home for One of the World's Leading African Art Galleries

That's exactly what our in-house marketing and digital agency, Regain Lab, set out to achieve when designing and developing the new website for Efie Gallery.

Founded by the Mintah family, Efie Gallery has quickly established itself as one of the most respected contemporary African art galleries in the world, representing artists from across Africa and its global diaspora while creating meaningful cultural dialogue between Africa, the Middle East, and the wider international art community.

The challenge wasn't simply to create a gallery website.

It was to build a digital platform that reflected the gallery's ambition, credibility, and cultural significance while providing an elegant stage for some of the world's most important contemporary artists.

From the outset, our focus was on restraint. We wanted the artwork, exhibitions, and stories behind the artists to take centre stage. Every design decision was made to create a seamless viewing experience, allowing visitors to engage with the work without distraction.

The result is a sophisticated digital experience that balances the feel of a contemporary museum, an editorial publication, and a commercial gallery. Clean typography, considered layouts, and intuitive navigation work together to create a platform that feels both premium and accessible.

Beyond aesthetics, the website was designed to support Efie Gallery's continued international growth. The platform showcases exhibitions, represented artists, institutional collaborations, art fair participation, and cultural programming while reinforcing the gallery's position as a leading voice in contemporary African art.

What makes Efie Gallery particularly unique is its mission. The gallery isn't simply exhibiting artwork; it is helping reshape how African and diasporic artists are represented within the global cultural landscape. Through exhibitions, residencies, partnerships, and educational initiatives, it continues to create opportunities for artists and audiences across continents.
